Cornell University Class of 1939. Marjorie Cornell returned to Cornell, 16 years after attending high school, majoring in journalism and graduating in 1939. She was the first woman editor of the Cornell Countryman. In 1953, she married Hollis Cornell. She and her husband were major benefactors of Cornell, endowing scholarships in floriculture and feline medicine; renovating a lecture space in Goldwin Smith Hall; and endowing the American Peony Society Garden in the Cornell Plantations. ...
